Rennes - Lorient

PICK: Lorient AH +0,5 @2,01 PINNACLE 5/10

Match between 10th and 20th placed team in French Ligue 1 will be played on Rhoazon Park in Rennes and will start at 20:00 on Saturday.

Rennes who will probably still be without Yoan Gourcuff is coming to match after 2-0 defeat on Velodrome in Marseille. Honestly, they were without any chances, even if lot of people were predicting that they could surprise, specially because OM was without Gomis. I will keep repeating that this Rennes, without N'tep, Grosicki and now Gourcuff, is not the same Rennes like we were used to see in first part of the season. Now even Amalfitano, who came as substitution for wingers is slightly injured, so Christian Gourcuff has less and less players in the team. Of course no one is able to replace N'tep or Yoann Gourcuff, but they know how to play disciplined and I believe that they will snap some unpredicted points, but in my opinion they can not be as big favourites as they are in matches like this one is - derby against Lorient.

Lorient still believes that they can avoid relegation, and I think that they will. All main players are ready, Ciani is back, what is important plus for defence, while there is no need to talk about their attacking part of the team (Moukandjo, Waris, Marveaux, Jeannot, Cabot...). Their problem is defence, and if they would have decent defence part of the team, than with this team they are in my opinion pretty solid L1 team, positioned between 7-11 place. You can expect a lot of Lorient supporters in Rennes, as cities are less than two hours apart.

As I said many times in last analysis, I still believe in this Lorient. They played so good against Nice, but Cardinale had incredible night, referee was not on their side, and they deserved at least a point in this match, but unfortunately they didn't get anything. They will be eager to get points in derby against Rennes, who they've already beaten this season (2-1). I don't know why they wouldn't take at least a point this time...

FT: 1-0
