Republic of Ireland - Wales

PICK: Wales AH +0,25 @1,88 PINNACLE 4/10

At 20:45 on Friday, 1st placed Republic of Ireland will host 3rd Wales on Aviva stadium in Dublin, which is sold out.

Ireland have 10 points with 3 wins (at home against Georgia, and away against Moldova and Austria) and draw against Serbia in Beograd. Their team looks really solid, but recently they have a lot injury problems. Manager of Rep. of Ireland, Martin O'Neil was asked about injury update and his response was: "How long have you got? It's the lengthiest list of injuries that I have known since I have come into the job, and unfortunately it's happened at a really crucial time for us." Brady is suspended, while Hoolahan, Duffy, Clark and Arter are injured. Although not even Coleman, Hayes, Murphy and McCarthy are not 100% fit. Coleman and Hayes will almost sure participate in the match, while status of McCarthy and Murphy will be known little bit before the match.

Wales is another team without defeat in the group, but their score is the opposite - 3 draws and 1 win. They won against Moldova at home, and draw against Austria away and Georgia and Serbia at home. Especially result against Georgia surprised everyone, and as they lost points in two home matches, they will need to seek for them away. The only important absence is Lawrence, who's substitution will be Liverpool teenager Woodburn. Luckily for Wales their superstar Gareth Bale is fit after being out for longer period.

Even without all the injury problems in Ireland squad, there would be value on away side. It's a big match, important for both teams. Ireland can run away on  7 points advantage in front of Wales, but in my opinion it won't happen. I think that there is decent value also on clear away win, but I've chosen this handicap, which give me half win even in the case of draw. I cannot see Wales loosing here. The only advantage of Ireland will be full Aviva stadium, but in my opinion that won't be enough. Wales with midfielders like Allen and Ramsey will be much stronger than Ireland, specially without Hoolahan. I think that Wales will take all three points in the match.

FT: 0-0 half
