Las Palmas - Real Betis

PICK: Las Palmas AH -0,5 @2,07 PINNACLE 3/10

On Sunday evening on Estadio de Gran Canaria in Las Palmas, 13th placed home team will face 15th placed Real Betis. Both teams lost last two matches and will try to finish "week of 3 matches" with 3 points.

Quique Setien has some problems and is pretty sure, that he won't be coach of Las Palmas in next season, but as president of the club has said, he will remain on the bench till the end of this season. With 35 points, they are far from being in relegation troubles, as 18th Gijon is 13 points behind, but with names as Jese and Boateng, fans were expecting little bit more than that. They have started season pretty strong, but now they are falling, having troubles specially away from Gran Canaria (only 1 win and 3 draws - meanwhile 3-3 draw was against Real Madrid, where they were leading by two goals..). Quique announced some changes regarding the last lineup, which is somehow normal as Jese, Boateng and Tana were all on the bench against Eibar. Defender Simon has some concerns, while Javi Castellano who played only one match this season, is the only absence for home team.

Real Betis is 4 points closer to relegation zone as Las Palmas, but still pretty safe in my opinion. Even if they won't win any point more, I doubt that Gijon will be able to win 10 points in last 8 rounds, if they won only 22 of them in 30 rounds. Betis started week of 3 matches in Cornella de Llobregat in Barcelona and they had 3 points almost in the pocket, as they were leading 0-1 till 87th minute, but Espanyol came back with goals of Javi Fuego and Reyes in 3 minutes, and Betis lost everything. In midweek they lost against Villarreal at home. Even if they are using 5-3-2 system, Villarreal was capable to be dangerous with through balls and crosses as well. Ceballos and Durmisi left out the training session on Wednesday, but they were back on Thursday. While Ceballos finished whole training normally, Durmisi had some pains and remains doubtful for the match. Victor Sanchez cannot count on midfielder Brašanac who is suspended and defenders Piccini, Donk and Jose Carlos.

Las Palmas played on Thursday, which means that they had 2 days less to prepare on Betis, and that's probably the reason why odds are here where they are, but I am counting on motivation fact here. Las Palmas is playing totally differently on their stadium in front of their supporters, they have all important players available, Lemos seems to be in superb form while offensive trio Tana-Boateng-Jese started on the bench in Eibar. Las Palmas will hold the ball, they will be in possession for sure, and while Betis offensive part is highly relying on Ceballos and Castro, there is much more players, individually capable to make a difference in Las Palmas. Passing accuracy might make the difference as well, as Las Palmas is among the top teams of the league in this element. I rate Las Palmas much higher with this team, and as already mentioned, in front of their fans they won also against tough Villarreal so in my opinion win will stay on the island.

FT: 4-1
